Rainwater Collection Class

The beginning
Purchased in April 2011, this property was nearly a blank slate.
On Deidra's moving in day, Carol & Mighk hosted a potluck design party with fellow alumni from the first permaculture course hosted here in Central Florida by Tia and Terry Mear. The small groups scoured the property, discussed the owner needs and desires, broke bread together and gave presentations on their recommendations. It was a lively group with lots of ideas that have been considered, some incorporated and others revised to fit the needs and direction the property is leading us.
Little did we know, that beneath the large [almost 3/4th of an acre] plot of grass, lie a colony of fire ant mounds and dollarweed roots that we would soon begin trying to outsmart. More about that, later.
